Our Community's frustration was sparked on Tuesday 10 August 2022 (Women's Day) when a 13 year old girl was caught in a crossfire between rival gangs. Akeela (13) passed on later in hospital. Sunday 7 August LeeAnn (27) of N2 Gateway was also gun down in her home shot and to date no arrests has been made. Not enough is being done to ensure that the accused be brought to justice. 

Our community are Broken, We are loosing young innocent lives with ongoing shooting and killing of women and children. Our streets aren't safe anymore. We fear the safety of our children. No one deserves to live in fear, we have the right to feel safe within our homes and community.  How many more innocent lives must be taken in order for SAPS and the Justice Department to take our community concerns to task! 

We the Community of Delft demand the following:

1. POLICE VISIBILITY in High Crime Areas (Hot Spots)
2. PROPER INVESTIGATIONS towards successful convictions. 
3. NO BAIL for accused of the mentioned crimes Murder, Rape and GBV related Crimes. We don't want those convicted back in our community they tend to reoffend!

If we the community remain silent many more lives will be loss. The police needs to ensure that our streets are gunfree. Our children need to be able to feel safe when walking down our streets they shouldn't duck and dive from bullets. This is not a way of life...We had Enough!
