We appreciate everyone who signed the petition to delay the start of school.  Tonight at the school board meeting,  I presented our concerns and asked the board to reconsider their decision and even offered an alternative calendar that would allow starting after the fair and still have exams before winter break (their main publicly- stated reason for the change).   Ultimately,  they indicated that they made the best decision academically and one that both parents and teachers support (which we all know is untrue).  Their remarks show that they do not and have not taken the safety of our children seriously. Their behavior is arrogant and shameful! 

It's time to vote this board out.  According to the Lake County election board website, 3 seats are up for election in November. We need people who actually care about our children, will not rubber stamp the superintendent, and will do what's right in public and when no one is looking.  This administration revels in their control and authority.  Let's show them that we, the people, are ultimately in control!!!! Vote these guys out!!!!
