Forbid the import, use and sale of prong collars in the UK.

Forbid the import, use and sale of prong collars in the UK.
The Issue
It's 2020, and still we have dog owners in the UK using a tool designed to cause pain around a dogs airway legal for use, sale and importation in the UK.
EVEN WORSE we have so called pet professionals advocating their use in the name of training.
In the UK anyone can set up as a dog trainer.
They don't even have to of ever owned, seen or been in contact, let alone interacted with a dog.
Imagine if teachers could do this?
Imagine the uproar that would be caused!
It's not just opinion though.
The fact aversive tools such as prong collars have been shown to do hideous harm physically and mentally, is backed up by copious amounts of scientific evidence and reputable organisations strongly discouraging their use on serious welfare grounds.
(Don't believe me? Take a look at this: https://www.facebook.com/723694491308779/posts/1248300648848158/?sfnsn=scwspmo&extid=0THcC8Hjub9ACSa3)
Prong collars 'work' because they are made of evenly distributed blunt spikes inward facing torwards the dog in a martingale design.
When pressure is added from pulling, the dog experiences pain so the idea is that the sensation of restriction and the pain experienced by the dog means the dog will try to avoid having that aversive experience again.
Often people will place them right behind the dogs ears where sensitive nerves are as the effect is intensified.
The thing is, they fail to deal with the root cause of the problem and simply suppress a 'symptom' of the issue.
Physically hurting someone when they are frustrated/scared will not make them less frustrated or scared. Hurting someone one when they don't understand a language will not make them magically be able to understand it.
Let's stop these archaic examples of so called training equipment banned in the UK.
Sign to stop the use, the rent, the sale, the production of, and importation of these horrific excuses of human ignorance, destructive instant gratification and behaviour suppressing tools.
Please sign and share, and make your feelings known to your nearest MP :)
