DEFLOCK Terrell

This petition addresses residents near the Terrell community and anyone who values privacy.  

Terrell has experienced a recent surge in Flock cameras—so many that I have lost count. Through this petition, we hope political leaders in Terrell and Kaufman County will ban the devices outright.  

For those unfamiliar with a Flock camera, I will describe it as best I can:  

These cameras enable mass surveillance.  

They scan license plates as vehicles pass, checking them against government databases for wanted individuals or vehicles.  

The service sounds reasonable on the surface. Behind the curtain, however, it is a slippery slope toward a mass surveillance state where government limits your rights. To put it another way, we may face a social credit score or a police state that jails dissenters. The end of this path is pure tyranny.
