Dear Community Members,

I wanted to share an important update regarding House Bill 5685. Representative Stan Kitzman has announced that the landowners associated with the proposed Waller County Improvement District No. 3 have asked him to withdraw the bill. They believe that additional time is needed to provide accurate information about the project and how the proposed district would function.

While this is a positive development, it is crucial that we do not let our guard down. The possibility of this project moving forward still exists, and we must remain vigilant and proactive in our efforts. We will continue raising awareness and gathering signatures to ensure that our community's voice is heard.

Next week’s gatherings on Friday and Saturday will still take place as planned, although we may shift the focus slightly. If the bill is truly off the table for now, the events will center more broadly on opposing the proposed theme park itself rather than the legislative aspect. Our message remains clear: we do not want a theme park in our rural community.

It is important to keep sharing information and engaging with community members. Let’s continue to stand together, stay informed, and make it known that our community is committed to preserving its rural character.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication. I look forward to seeing everyone at the gatherings next week. Together, we will make sure our community remains a place we are proud to call home.
