This petition is not an 'Official' Orange Order request, but a personal request from a concerned Scottish citizen, it is also a plea to any ex member of the Loyal Orders to return to their Lodge, Club or Preceptory during these more difficult & challenging times .

SUPPORT 'OUR' RIGHT TO PARADE 'OUR' STREETS

In recent days & weeks we have seen a number of  political & sectarian attacks against Individuals within our Orange Community here in Scotland, these attacks have been organised by hate filled bigots who simply don't understand anything about the Orange Order but want us off the streets in our own country, people who continue their attacks against us with blatant lies, myths & organised sectarian hate .

The truth is, we are a Christian Organisation, an organisation that sing hymns & reads passages from the Bible at our meetings, meetings that we see as an extention to our weekly church services, to us, anyone who would deny us these religious rights is him or herself the real Sectarian Bigot in Scotland .

We seek the right to preserve, celebrate & promote our Orange traditions as part of our Protestant culture that has paraded here in Scotland for over 200 years now, in Scotland, a country where today many cultures freely practice their own Religion & Culture and we (as part of the Scottish public) whole heartedly seek the right to do so also, no matter who displays their ignorance & hatred against us.

Our haters will often exaggerate & raise the point of spectator behaviour (as an excuse to complain) at our parades, even though there is very little trouble at our parades in the modern day, at last years 2023 main parade in Glasgow which attracted 120.000 (marchers & spectators) there was only 4 arrests (police figures) and all for minor offences .

We can't account for 'everyone' who comes to watch our parades, but we see any bad behaviour as a social issue & solely as a police matter, we ourselves can demand good conduct from our bands that we hire as well as our Orangemen/women on parade and we certainly do try & do exactly that, i'd challenge anyone to show me any political or religious group with better decorum, behaviour & conduct as shown by any of our Loyal Order parades here in Scotland .

People who are against our parades have their own bigoted agenda & are simply Ignorant to the Principles & Workings of the Orange Order & will simply go out their way to find issues.

The Order itself has a well known saying ;

'We Are Pro Protestant - 

Not Anti Catholic' .

ie we are not against the individual Catholic who wants to practice their faith in peace & privacy, though (As Protestants) just like many great men before us including Patrick Hamilton, John Knox, John Calvin, Martin Luther etc we do reserve the right to disagree & protest on many points from within the Church of Rome itself . 

Will these people continue to try & deny us this right to parade & protest ?.

We must ask, who exactly is behind all this organised anti Protestant hate ??.
