Declarations Under Perjury Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Causes Traumatic Brain Injury
The Issue
Several subjects of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation clinical trials have found their reported symptoms were omitted from their medical records, if their medical records were made available, or not destroyed. This petition will help future patients seeking information about the safety of these medical procedures. How many former TMS patients seek medical attention for long-term TBI symptoms that immediately started during an active TMS treatment is a metric potential TMS patients will find useful for informed consent.
This declaration is worded as simply as possible so that it applies to as many injured patients as possible. This is also broadly worded so that it very easily applies to injured patients which hopefully makes them feel more comfortable signing. A separate petition should be made for injured patients without medical records, more mild injuries should also be documented.
There are only three requirements to sign this petition:
1. Experienced TBI symptoms that started during TMS treatments.
2. Persistent TBI symptoms lasting for at least 6 months.
3. Any mention of any TBI symptoms on any medical records.

"I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct by signing this petition:"
“I developed sudden onset symptoms the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines as a traumatic brain injury, during a TMS treatment. At least one of the specific symptoms listed below has persisted for over six months. I also have medical records stating medical attention was sought for this injury.”
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke states the specific symptoms of traumatic brain injury are:
Signs and symptoms of traumatic brain injury
Headache, dizziness, confusion, and fatigue tend to start immediately after an injury but resolve over time. Emotional symptoms such as frustration and irritability tend to develop during recovery.
Seek immediate medical attention if the person experiences any of the following symptoms, especially within the first 24 hours after an injury to the head:
Physical symptoms of TBI
Headache
Convulsions or seizures
Blurred or double vision
Unequal eye pupil size or dilation
Clear fluids draining from the nose or ears
Nausea and vomiting
New neurological problems, such as slurred speech, weakness of arms, legs, or face, or loss of balance
Cognitive/behavioral symptoms of TBI
Loss of or change in consciousness for anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours
Decreased level of consciousness (e.g., hard to awaken)
Confusion or disorientation
Problems remembering, concentrating, or making decision
Changes in sleep patterns (e.g., sleeping more, difficulty falling or staying asleep, inability to wake)
Frustration, irritability
Perception and sensation symptoms of TBI
Light-headedness, dizziness, vertigo, or loss of balance or coordination
Blurred vision
Hearing problems, such as ringing in the ears
