A question for you all - what unites people in France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Monaco, Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Kuwait, Israel, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Cape Verde, Mauritius, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Vanuatu, Mexico, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Suriname, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, every part of the United Kingdom from Shetland to the Channel Isles and beyond, and every one of the fifty United States of America.

Yes, its the shared sense of shock, disappointment, outrage and disgust of over fifty thousand of you at Decathlon's ongoing support for the slaughter of millions of birds annually. Its been a humbling experience for me to look at the depth and breadth of support, but so far Decathlon are still trying to brazen it out. They're rattled, the particular cartridges first  used to illustrate this campaign have been taken down from all their European websites (although still available in store) - its a sad day when a $12bn company is ashamed of its own products. But don't be fooled - there are plenty alternatives in their arsenal, a quick check today reveals their Thrush-killing cartridges and accessories on sale in at least 11 countries, plus lures for at least four species of concern on the IUCN Red List.

So the fight escalates, we are now directly contacting environmental bodies of which Decathlon claim membership or affiliation pointing out the contradictions and asking them to consider their position, these include Act4Nature and the influential OREE, with copies to WWF, the IUCN and the French Government's Office de la Biodiversite.

If you have thirty seconds to help keep up the pressure, please email Decathlon's Director of Sustainable Development Isabelle.guyader@decathlon.com with your concerns. You could ask - "Why does Decathlon promote the killing of songbirds and vulnerable species, why are Decathlon hiding their own products, and why are you ignoring the protest of over fifty thousand people worldwide"?

Please help expose and end this odious trade, thank you.
