Reducing the speed limit on Denshaw Rd/Delph Rd (A6052) to 40mph from national speed limit will make the road safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

It would be safer for all motorists driving between Delph and Denshaw as it would reduce overtaking. The area needs to be made safer as there have been fatalities and serious incidents, as well as many minor crashes and pets killed.

Because of the high walls, lack of pavement and bends in the road, there is no safe place to cross close to West View/Tame Lane/Slackcote Lane. Visibility is severely limited. Schoolchildren and other locals use the bus stop there daily. Hikers and residents cross the road there.

More people have moved into the area since the speed limit was set, and there is also now a nursery, so it is time for the speed limit to be reviewed and reduced before there are any more incidents, and so people can cross safely.
