Hello everyone,
I'm on my way to Nashville to attend the NCAA National Convention. I was asked to sit on a panel to discuss the work of the NCAA Committee to Combat Sexual Assault. (The committee that YOU helped form!)
I'm excited about this panel because I will have the opportunity to share how important this committee is and how important it is that every NCAA conference follow through at the request of the Board of Governors to implement legislation to deal with violent athletes.
In addition, at the beginning of this month I spoke in front of 3,000 coaches at the (AFCA) American Football Coaches Association National Convention. I asked these coaches to use their influence and leadership to mobilize football as a solution to ending sexual assault and domestic violence and the response was overwhelming positive!
The NCAA committee members will be meeting the 31st of this month in Indianapolis and I will be given time to present my experience at the AFCA Convention. During that presentation I will talk about a campaign I am launching soon (details to come) and how the AFCA and the NCAA can hopefully collaborate on this very important issue of violence in sports.
Thank you for your continued support. Your voices are important and I am doing everything to make sure that they are heard!
Sincerely,
Brenda Tracy
