Hello everyone! This is Brenda Tracy. Back in August, Darius and I delivered our petition, with your signatures, to the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis. The Board of Governors met that same day and by unanimous vote agreed that something more needed to be done to address sexual assault and other types of violence on our campuses. A few weeks ago, the NCAA extended a formal invitation to me asking that I participate on a special committee charged with creating policies to deal with violent athletes in all three athletic divisions. I happily accepted the invitation, and I am back in Indy today for the first committee meeting taking place today! I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you who signed our petition. Darius and I could not have done this without you! Please continue to sign and share the petition by pointing people to: change.org/banviolentathletes. The committee is a great first step, but we need to make sure that good legislation comes from these meetings. We need to hold strong and keep the pressure on until we see a change in how violent athletes are treated. Thank you!
