Proposal

The goal of the Mosque Foundation is to serve, grow, and nurture the Muslim community in Bridgeview and its surrounding areas. To best fulfill this mission, the Mosque Foundation should invest in building a premier private Islamic school rather than a community center. While both serve the community, an Islamic school directly aligns with the Masjid's purpose by educating and shaping the young minds that will become the future leaders and contributors to the community.

The Mosque Foundation has an incredible opportunity to address a critical need in the southwest suburban Muslim community by building a premier private Islamic school. There are three compelling reasons to move forward with this initiative:

  • Significant Demand: With only two Islamic schools serving a large population of school-aged children, there is a clear demand for additional educational facilities. The Muslim community has expressed a desire for more Islamic schools, and we have the responsibility to meet that need.
  • Serving the Masjid’s Purpose: An Islamic school actively contributes to the growth and development of the Muslim community by educating future leaders and nurturing Islamic values. This fulfills the Mosque Foundation’s mission more directly than a community center could.
  • Providing Comprehensive Facilities: The school will offer a range of facilities that will be available for community use, maximizing the utility of the space and serving all age groups.

We have the resources and the space to build a school with an initial capacity of 1,000 students. In time, we could expand to accommodate 2,000–3,000 students by acquiring nearby facilities or constructing additional buildings. The community is ready to support this initiative, and it will leave a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come. The Mosque Foundation is in the best position to make this vision a reality and should take immediate steps to do so.
