The Dangers of Misuse & Personal Stalking

This is not a theoretical privacy issue—it is a real-world safety hazard.

Investigative news reports across the nation have documented numerous instances of law enforcement officers abusing Flock’s database for personal reasons. Officers have been fired, investigated, and criminally charged for using this system to:

Stalk and harass ex-spouses, dating partners, and rivals by monitoring their daily locations.

Track innocent family members without authorization or probable cause.
Run unauthorized background searches on neighbors and acquaintances.

Because the system allows searches without a prior judicial warrant, internal abuse is frequently only discovered after someone’s privacy, safety, and peace of mind have already been violated.

Our Demands
We, the residents of Connecticut, demand that our local government prioritize the privacy and safety of its citizens by taking the following actions:

Terminate existing contracts or halt any proposed plans to purchase and install Flock Safety camera systems.
Prohibit mass automated surveillance that tracks law-abiding drivers without a specific warrant.

Mandate public transparency and community input before any surveillance technology is considered by local law enforcement.

Over 50 communities across the United States have already rejected or canceled their Flock contracts after recognizing the extreme privacy risks and potential for abuse. Our town deserves the same protection.
