Judge Penney S. Azcarate of Fairfax County granted a request from the 35-year-old Amber Heard to allow her to amend her motion to dismiss Johnny Depp's defamation case against her (Heard), but said during Friday Mornin's hearing that the request will likely prove "futile." This is at least the third motion by Heard to dismiss, as her others attempts have been shut down.
Further, Azcarate warned that if Heard is found to have wasted the court's time, there will be legal repercussions for her in the form of sanctions.
Judge Penney is having none of Heard's antics.
Neither Heard nor Depp were present for the hearing on Friday, but the day is considered a huge win for Johnny Depp.
Heard is required to file a hefty briefing with the court by June 14.
Their next hearing will take place on July 22.
