Michelle Ugenti-Rita became the face of the #MeToo movement when she accused former State Rep. Don Shooter of sexual harassment.

Now, there's a lobbyist who says the state senator and her now husband, Brian Townsend, sexually harassed her while the politician was still in the Arizona House of Representatives. Ugenti-Rita was a state representative between 2013 and 2015, meaning the alleged allegations happened before the politician made her accusations against Shooter.

The lobbyist alleges that Ugenti-Rita showed her photos of herself on her phone, and that Ugenti-Rita's husband, Townsend, sent explicit photos hif himself and his wife to the lobbyist.

The lobbyist also alleges that she was later invited up to Ugenti-Rita's hotel room, where Ugenti-Rita behaved provocatively and urged the lobbyist stay until Townsend could join them.

Arizona’s Senate Democratic Leader David Bradly said that the “allegations contained in the deposition appear to be a clear violation of our sexual harassment policy that warrants further investigation."

This clearly illustrates that Amber Heard is likely not the first woman to use the #MeToo movement to hide her own criminal behavior by purporting to represent women's issues.

This outlines a fundamental problem with the #MeToo movement. While claiming to be representatives of abused women, the MeToo platform has created an environment where men can be persecuted with no proof whatsoever aside of a woman accusing him, the way Amber Heard accused her ex-husband Johnny Depp of abusing her.

Heard presented falsified photos as proof, and she became the darling of #MeToo, furthering her own career and public reputation at the cost of a man who did none of the things she accused him of.

Heard's photos were quickly debunked as fakes by other public photos the day before, the day after, and even later the same day showing her with no bruises or busted lip at all.

Ultimately, women like this don't represent women who really have been brutalized. In fact, there's almost irreperable damage. Until this flawed system is fixed, the real victims are the women who are forced to suffer in silence for fear that they won't be believed if they come forward to tell their stories and seek help.
