In 2018 alone, there have been 18 child deaths from being left in a car. According to http://www.noheatstroke.org there were 43 deaths in 2017. These poor children are dying a slow and painful death. 

The latest death was Remington Engler, 21 months old, whose mom decided she would drop her daughter off at daycare. It was a change in routine, and instead went straight to work. When she finally found her daughter, it was too late. 

I’m apart of a Facebook group and we wondered “Why?” “How?” “What if?” Communication could save a child’s life. Had dad double checked with mom, she’d be alive right now. If day cares called or texted to remind or let you know your child didn’t show up, it can save a life. 

I’m hoping that with this petition we can have Daycares send simple texts or reminder calls to parents/babysitters.

It may be awkward or make you feel like a bad parent but that doesn’t matter, your child is alive.
