The City of Dawson Creek has unanimously voted to cut the current transit budget in half resulting in transit cuts to take place in July of 2020. These cuts include a discontinuing of our Central route, reduction of service days from 6 to 5 days a week eliminating service on Saturdays. As a result bus fares will go up & ridership will reduce

What City Council doesn't realize is that there are more people who ride the bus; it's not just seniors, persons with disabilities and students who rely on the bus. This change will also affect the working citizens who take the bus to and from work, there are individuals who work on Saturdays and use transit or use transit on Saturdays to run errands. This affects me personally as I work full time Monday to Friday and run my errands on Saturdays. This means I either have to rely on taxis or other individuals for transportation.

An easy solution for all is make the cuts required, however keep the Saturday service.
