Dear Friends and supporters of the people with disabilities.

The home of the people with disability was raided by 14 people of City of Wanneroo (COW) and tried to close it down in 7 days. During the raid, those irresponsible people of city of Wanneroo went through the bedrooms of disabled people and took grossly inappropriate photos of people with disabilities. The City of Wanneroo took advantage of the challenging behaviours of the people with disabilities to close down Sunflower in 7 days. 

But the plan backfired when we Sunflower Care Services (SCS) complained to State Administration Tribunal (SAT). But City of Wanneroo succeeded anyway by getting Disability Services Commission (DSC) of Department of Communities (DOC) to cancel our service contract with DSC (DOC). The service contract was cancelled by two abusers of powers of the toxic culture that exists in the City of Wanneroo and Disability Services Commission of DOC. 

This unannounced raid by City of Wanneroo was Pre-planned and executed by COW with help of then minister for local government, reason  only to please the neighbours who believed, that their house’s value will reduce because 3 disabled people live next to them, (live next to  SCS's property) also these neighbour threatened to sued the city of Wanneroo and us for the reduction of property value (3 people with disabilities used to live their very Charm and friendly. 

 This unscrupulous action was grossly inappropriate, highly insensitive and very disrespectful towards vulnerable disabled people, their families and us (SCS). This is the clear demonstration of abusers of power in action to achieve the unclean political goals at the expense of service provider, people with disabilities and their families.  

The last 4 years, we have been fighting for fairness and justice for their inappropriate action. We are demanding the Minister of Local government to support an independent inquiry into COW as well as the involvement of Disability Services Commission of DOC and of the former minister of local government. We kindly ask the minister to respect and listen to the voice of the community, people with disabilities and their families.
