I was asked if the photos of the trees shown in my original Petition photo where of the actual woods "Marked for CLEAR CUT" as BEAR CAMP as noted in the Bid Specifications. In the picture above you can see the Blue Paint on a Perfectly Healthy Aspen tree. If you were to zoom the words BEAR CAMP are vertical on the tree. You will also notice that the surrounding forest is also very lush and green, hardly a spruce bud worm devastated forest. Furthermore I was told by the DNR that the trees were being removed for the timber value and that a surveyor noticed some bud worm infected trees. I would not consider that an environmental impact study nor would does the DNR provide evidence that any type of study was conducted whether environmental or economic. The short term monetary impact to the State couffer will not make up for the long term damage to the forest or the economic loss of tourism and property value to the taxpayers.
