This is a picture of what was once a tree lined road in Upper Michigan, much the same as the forest we are trying to save. This devastated forest shown in this picture will not regenerate in two or three lifetimes if ever into a natural forest as it once was. This is the CLEAR CUT devastation planned for the woods at Bear Camp. It scares me to think that the greed of government could not only let this happen to OUR land that we entrusted them to be guardians of, but to also to be the ones directing the carnage. We must make a stand here to STOP this logging contract and have the specifications rewritten to something that makes sense and will allow the forest to grow and save the home of the wildlife that inhabits these woods. The DNR has tried to tell me that the animals are not year long residents and I know first hand this to be false as I am there all year long and see the deer, wolf, and many other tracks in the snow all around my cabin. With the little natural forests that are left the CLEAR CUTTING of this forest will leave them no refuge. LET'S STAND FOR WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
