Many hunters cannot afford a gun and the stuff that follows, so I believe the legalization of bows/crossbows for hunters around the UK would help many aspiring hunters that wish to learn the art and skill of hunting can do so without having to spend a small fortune on a gun and the many mandatory accessories that follows upon a gun purchase, bows and crossbows are essentially the same as an air rifle so why shouldn't they be made legal to hunt with? I believe crossbows and bows much like guns and high powered air rifles when it comes to hunting should be Licensed, this way it will influence sensible usage for hunters across the UK. Game such as deer can be killed just as humanly with a bow/crossbow as with any other arms. Hunting with a bow has been a tradition for hundreds of years and its a shame that we have to see it die out in the UK. It would do wonders both financially for hunters and traditionally for most hunters if they were to be made legal to hunt with.
