Increase sentences for people who harm animals

The Issue

A 19-year old British man was recently sentenced for drowning a defenceless puppy in scalding water. For this heinous crime he was given just 16 weeks in a young offenders institution. It's just one of many crimes against animals in the UK, where the culprits sentence was simply not enough for the terrible act that took place.

Every day people are abusing and killing household pets for their own vile reasons, knowing that even if they do get caught they'll get off extremely lightly. This makes it all the more likely that these horrible acts of violence will continue. This petition is to increase the sentence of anyone involved in acts of criminality against animals to be increased to a minimum of one year. Please sign and help prevent this type of abuse from continuing to happen.
