The year of 2016, aren't we advanced enough as the human race to provide greater security for the creatures we share the world with? I see more and more sickening trends and how "people" mistreat, abuse and torture our co habitants- and get away with a slap on the wrist. Countless times even early in this year already I see a worrying trend and escalation in these barbaric acts. Along with the troublesome stories I see evidence of very little repercussions for these crimes. I and many many others truly and honestly believe that deep down that harsher action and prevention is required too deter further growth in these statistics. Surely it has been proven and that many people in prison started off abusing and killing animals which led too the eventual species jump to humans. Can we not put more energy into protecting our harmless animals with greater prevention and actionable justice. Why has it become acceptable to turn a blind eye to these offenders or simply offer up a short holiday term out of the tax payers cost in prison? Only to lead too re-offence and possible escalation. We try to give appropriate action to a person who will harm another person but why is a innocent animal, be it pet, livestock or pest only guarantees a laughable judgment. We reli on animals for produce and companionship both of which we treasure yet we give them little respect in their wellbeing. I put it too you all should we stand for this or should we make our voices heard loudly, clearly that we think we are capable of more. PROTECT OUR ANIMALS!
