Bert Patterson is an upstanding member, and hero of the UK SAS Task Force. He served his Queen and Country for 22 years acting as an elite warrior within the most feared and respected force that is on this earth. He has seen many combat zones and has gone above and beyond for his nation many times throughout his career!

This 65 year old highly skilled man has been given a very harsh prison sentence from our Judicial System for keeping a 9mm pistol in his cellar, whereas, drug dealers, sex offenders and like are given less, including suspended sentences! Various ex military service men have also been in the same situation in the past, and they have also recieved suspended sentences!

How has this man recieved a brutal and harsh long term sentence? Is this how we treat our highly decorated and respected members of the most elite team that has ever walked this earth?

This petition is to FREE Bert Patterson and reduce his sentence to one that is deemed fit as he has fought for Queen and country and has risked his life for the Citizens of the UK..

Although he has commited a crime by keeping a firearm at home, however, he has used the most brutal weapons in combat, but, he was found to be in possesion of a 9mm Pistol, which would be the size of an Ammunition Shell that he has used in Combat and War Zones!

This is NOT right!

I appeal to Mr David Cameron and Prison Officials, Politicians alike, to FREE Mr Patterson and at least give him some dignity and respect after serving us as a nation for so many years, by reducing his sentence to a Suspended Sentence..

He is NOT a criminal in the eyes of our Nation.
