Buy to let mortgages are ruining the housing market. With not enough homes to go around, what gives people the right to buy multiple properties and slap hard working people with high rent for what is considered in many cases to be sub standard accommodation. They may be saving for their future, building up a nice fat retirement fund, but what about people now? Young people and families need a home now, investors are greedy and selfish and enough is enough. Not everyone wants to rent a home, they want to buy a home, to have something to call their own and leave to their children. As a first time buyer I have found it increasingly difficult to find a home in my price range. My husband and I have been married 3 years and are still having to live with my family, we live near the airport so there is a big rental market in the area and the cross rail project certainly hasn't helped either. Every time we put an offer on a property we are outbid either by Central London commuters or investors. We are currently in a position where we will be forced out of our local community and miles away from our families. If you feel in a similar position to my husband and I or are just sick of investors contributing to massively inflating prices in the UK, then sign my petition.
