Every year in my terraced home, in a very busy built up area full of families, children and pets, around this time of year, just two of our neighbours purchase fireworks, mainly bangers, and then every night, without fail, they let them off randomly between the hours of 7pm & 11pm, sometimes even later. Tjis lasts from October to late January. This has been happening for the last 18 or so years. Various babies, dogs, cats, guinea pigs etc in my own home and many in neighbouring homes have been woken up, scared, petrified and/or worse needlessly by thoughtless, selfish people who buy and let off fireworks in tiny gardens in blatant disregard for anyone else, not to mention the burns & scalds, minor and more serious, caused to children. Surely there are enough opportunities to go to displays, paid & free, and leave it to groups to purchase and safely run displays in fields or much larger gardens on pre advertised days, so that the rest of us can keep our family members, human and animal, safe and sound and settled. Please sign my petition to ban fireworks for personal use.
