The Issue

Living in White County means being part of a close- knit rural community that provides itself on our natural landscapes and simple way of life. Unfortunately, the future we envision for our home is still at risk. Tech companies are eyeing our precious prime farm ground to build massive Data centers, threatening to transform our peaceful environment into an industrial zone. Though these companies promised economic growth, many of us are deeply concerned about the irreversible damage it could cause our community particularly are limited water resources.

Data centers, essential as they may seem consume enormous amounts of water and electricity. Data centers use millions of gallons of water per day. This is not a resource White County can afford to stretch as we are already managing with what we have in a region, not particularly rich in water. Moreover, the noise pollution from these data centers will drown out the serenity that we cherish so deeply.

Additionally, this development goes against what White county stands for: a rural community oriented lifestyle that values nature over industrialization. The landscape of our county is part of our identity and preserving it must be a priority. Why should our traditions in the sanctity of our environment be sacrificed for corporate profits? We understand the need for technological infrastructure, but White County cannot and should not bear the burden of this progress at its core

This is a critical moment for us, and we need your help to stand up for what matters most our homes are environment in our future. Together, we can preserve the unique character of White County and stop the encroachment of data centers onto our prime farmland and small community.

Please sign this petition to make your voice heard and request another six month moratorium to get ordinances in place.
