Last night I attended the candlelight ceremony for Darius in Blairmore, where about 100 community members gathered in the gazebo park. The light of so many candles reflected the love and strength of a community standing together.

I had the chance to speak at the ceremony and to Maegan Darius's mom, and I told her what was clear to everyone present: this community loves her, stands with her, and will not stop until young Darius is found.

I offered a prayer to God — asking Him to watch over Darius wherever he is, to keep him close, to guide Search and Rescue in their work, and to give strength to Maegan and her family through this painful time. I also prayed for our leaders — that their eyes be opened to the need for Amber Alert reform, so every option is on the table when children go missing.

As I looked around at the candles glowing in the night, I was struck by the power of community. In that moment, it was clear that while we may not have all the answers, we have each other — and we have hope.

This is why we continue to push for Darius’s Law. No parent should ever face this kind of heartbreak while waiting on systems bound by such a rigid criteria. Thank you for standing with us, for signing and sharing, and for bringing your light to this cause.

We will not give up. We will find this little boy.
