Why this petition matters

Started by Catrina Marshall

When an individual is the victim of a cold-case homicide, families and friends want answers, justice, communication, transparency, updates, effort, support and/or closure- including mine.

My maternal aunt, namesake and immediate family member Catherine “Catrina” Diane Mowrey was the victim of a brutal homicide in Dallas, TX in June of 1985. Eventually, I ordered a copy of the autopsy and toxicology reports and viewed them for myself. Once those were received, it was learned that the toxicology reports were clear of all drugs however, this was previously reported (twice) to have been an overdose death.

After numerous attempts to contact, communicate, request information, give information and investigating this case on my own with minimal to no response, communication or contact with any of the departments within the Dallas Law Enforcement Divisions/Departments or governing offices, I was forced to make the matter public in hopes of gaining more (or renewed) attention to this case. No victim should have to wait nearly 4 decades for even an attempt at justice and/or acknowledgement-  as this has now- over the last 37+ years, resulted in 3 sisters -who are all dead transpiring from this incident, including (most recently) my own mother
