The community of Dallas Texas is undergoing massive financial restrictions due to the mandatory shut down of bars, restaurants, fitness centers, etcetera in attempts to contain COVID-19. The vast majority of the community is unable to pay for their rent, as their jobs have been either terminated or heavily restricted. At this time, the Dallas community is asking for government assistance through either a rent freeze, and/or financial compensation that would match that which was lost during the mandatory COVID-19 city shut down. The rent freeze would be applicable to all residents in Dallas.  This would include but is not limited to: rent, utilities, and any other additional lost wages due to business shut down. If residents and businesses cannot afford to stay located in Dallas, they may choose to leave and the city may experience a greater economic crash. It is in the best interest of the city to take care of it’s loyal Dallas Texans during such a trying time. Many families do not have an emergency fund large enough to compensate for all the associated costs that the COVID-19 pandemic has created.
