CVS: go paperless

CVS: go paperless
The Issue
CVS issues some of the longest receipts. You’ve probably seen it: receipts taller than people. Some are 6 feet tall.
Some things that you may not know: CVS’s receipts contain the toxin Bisphenol-S (BPS) - an industrial chemical that has possible health effects on young children and babies - and all of these paper receipts result in damage to deforestation efforts and pollution.
In 2018, CVS committed to adding a digital option for receipts. Since then, they say they have saved more than 3 billion inches of paper.
However, paper receipts are still being produced, and they are still extremely long. And while many stores may offer the digital receipt option, they aren’t up front about it at all. Many who still go to the stores regularly have no idea they offer this option.
Over 250 million gallons of oil, 10 million trees, and 1 billion gallons of water are consumed each year in making receipts alone.
It generates 1.5 billion pounds of waste.
CVS has 9,800 stores. They need to continue what they started and go totally digital.
