The Issue

New Yorkers have the right to choose their own mayor—without threats, intimidation, or interference from Washington.

President Donald Trump has publicly threatened to send in the National Guard and cut off federal funding if Zohran Mamdani wins the mayoral election. He called Mamdani a “Communist” and claimed he would “clean up” the city in 30 days using federal force.

This is dangerous.

Threatening to use the military against a U.S. city simply because voters might choose a candidate Trump doesn’t like is a direct attack on democracy.

Elections in New York City are decided by the people who live here, not by fear, force, or federal threats. Whether you support Mamdani or not, this kind of behavior should concern all of us.

We’re calling on Congress, New York’s Governor Kathy Hochul, and state leaders to speak out now and make it clear:
Federal military power should never be used to punish voters or influence local elections.

This is about more than one candidate. It’s about protecting our right to vote freely.

Add your name if you agree: No military threats. No funding threats. No intimidation. Just democracy.
