Number plates are more than just number plates to many. It may be a special gift you received on your 21st Birthday, the plates your parents had on their family car, the name of your favourite band or pastime, the name of a loved one or even have historical significance based on your vehicles year and make - the possibilities are endless!

I was scrolling through the Custom Plates YouTube channel last night and it is evident they they get the passion and the reasons why!

Their marketing team have done such a wonderful job advertising the benefits of custom plates although it appears they have not addressed the elephant in the room and forgotten a huge part of their key and potentially most lucrative market- THE VIC CLUB PERMIT SCHEME!

For me personally I have a custom plate in memory of my grandfather as he gave me his car before he passed away. I plan to get the car back on the road although it saddens me that I won’t be able to add the finishing touch in memory of him. My only option at present is to pay full rego for this vehicle which I cannot justify given how little I would drive it. I am hopeful that VicRoads will listen to the stories of many people like you and I, please continue to share your reasons why when you sign the petition.
