WRONGFULLY CONVICTED: KENDALL COX
WRONGFULLY CONVICTED: KENDALL COX
The Issue
Kendall Cox is incarcerated at Shawangunk Correctional Facility. Sadly like so many others, for a crime he did not commit!
In January 1996, Kendall was convicted of two counts of Murder (2nd degree) and attempted Robbery in Nassau County, NY. During the past 2.8 decades, he had tried to convince anyone who would listen of his innocence - unfortunately, all to no avail.
On January 20th, 1995, Kendall was taken into custody by detectives from the Hempstead Police Department in Nassau County, indicating that a confident informant cited that he was responsible for a recent shooting at 100 Terrace Ave. For the next 52 hours, Kendall was aggressively interrogated, tortured, beaten, stripped of his clothing, denied his asthma inhaler, and endured excessive physical abuse. The prosecutor presented a statement, which was a handwritten document written by the interrogators. This statement was a collection of theories that the Detectives concluded happened. Regrettably, his signature was forcibly obtained after countless hours of undergoing psychological and physical abuse, coercion, stress, exhaustion, and being denied food and medical attention.
With the help of family and his independent research, Kendall was able to obtain recanted statements, photos, affidavits, ballistic reports, and other documents that were NOT used by his defense attorney during the trial. He is confident that there are other critical elements in this case that the District and Defense attorneys overtly ignored or purposely overlooked. Unfortunately, without the proper assistance, exposure, resources, or legal guidance, it would be impossible for him to handle this himself. Simply put, Kendall needs help securing legal representation.
Would you help share Kendall's story to hopefully gain the needed legal representation and attention to get his case reopened?
