Current Congress may have passed laws GOP dislikes but is not broken

The Issue

I just wanted to share the following feedback with you. While you might not like the direction the country is heading in with Democrats leadership in Congress and The White House the current Congress has accomplished a great deal. Some of the accomplishments, including legislation passed that Republican politicians and Republican voters may disagree with and didn't want passed but the fact is this Congress has been less broken than past Congresses.   That is not to say there aren't problems in the current Congress. By the way before Scott Brown won the Massachussetts U.S. Senate seat of the late Ted Kennedy Democrats  had a filibuster proof majority briefly in the U.S. Senate which they used to pass a great deal of legislation that they would not have been able to pass if Scott Brown was elected and seated earlier in Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat. Unfortunately, the filibuster in recent years has become a tool by Republicans to obstruct progress. President Obama recently tweeted on Twitter that the point was never to just elect a Democrat as President but to build a movement for lasting positive change.   President Obama and the Democrats are campaigning on the principle that they want to "keep moving America forward" while Republicans supposedly want to take it backward to the same failed policies of the Bush Cheney Administration. Furthermore, Democrats argue the GOP had 6-8 years to drive America's economy into a ditch and President Obama has had only 2 years to help dig us out of the ditch. When he came to office he says he wanted to work with Republicans and Democrats to solve the country's problems but Republican politicians made a gamble they wanted the President to fail even if that means letting the country fail, and then convince voters to give them back the keys. President Obama further states in order to continue to build on the promise of change he needs Democrats to retain as many seats as possible in both chambers of Congress, to defend reforms already passed despite GOP opposition from being repealed and fight to pass more reforms.   It is likely that Republicans may win back control of Congress in this November 2nd's midterm elections, now just a week away. It is my hope that Republicans and President Obama afterward are able to work together and your party will be willing to help solve America's current problems. Stop being the Party of No and obstructing everything. In order to govern Republicans need to be able to come together with Democrats, build consensus, find common ground and negotiate in good faith to reach compromises when possible. Unfortunately, though at this time if Republicans win control of one or both chambers of Congress THERE MAY BE GRIDLOCK IN THE NEW CONGRESS AND CONGRESS MAY BE UNABLE TO GET ANYTHING DONE! I hope this doesn't happen regardless of who controls Congress the last thing we need is gridlock, partisan bickering, and obstructionism.   President Obama was given a mandate in 2008 to help deliver change. His election did not usher in change overnight but as he stated progressives won an election providing the opportunity to build on the change promised. I urge you party's leaders to work with him in the new Congress to keep America moving forward.
