After concerns were raised with 104.1 KRBE and Cumulus Media, station management responded.
They confirmed that the segment in question was reviewed internally and determined to be “not consistent with station or company policy.” The content was subsequently removed from certain platforms.
That acknowledgment matters. It shows that the concern raised in this petition was taken seriously.
Since that response, multiple versions of the segment appear to have been removed from social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
However, no public explanation or on-air acknowledgment has been issued.
I also want to note that shortly after this response, my access to the station’s Facebook and Instagram pages was restricted, which limits my ability to independently verify what content remains visible across all platforms.
While I appreciate that steps were taken, the core concern has not changed.
Private individuals—especially those who may be older or living with medical conditions—do not have a platform to respond when they become the subject of public broadcast content.
Once that content is edited, shared, and amplified online, the impact goes beyond the original broadcast.
That is why this issue extends beyond a single segment.
This petition remains active to encourage continued awareness, accountability, and consistent standards when private individuals are involved in publicly distributed media.
If this issue matters to you, your voice still matters here.
Sharing this petition helps keep that standard part of the conversation.
