Cullompton Town Council met this evening and unanimously voted to lease Tufty and Headweir Park on 25yr leases. This is a preliminary vote pending information on some maintenance costs to be provided by MDDC. I truly believe the town council want to save both these parks and they were visibly moved by the response from the community. Cost is an issue and there is still work to do. Working as a community will make it easier - we have the opportunity to share ideas - how to make the parks better and raise funds. This is an opportunity to help make Cully a better place to live . I dont know a great deal about how councils work but the town council were really receptive to the idea of a community working group. This group could be a virtual one - the save tufty and headweir FB page could be a platform to do this.
