Earlier this month, Envoy Foundation released an in-depth investigation report on the New South Wales (NSW) Shark Meshing Program (shark nets). Our dedicated team has tirelessly examined the program's effectiveness in protecting human and marine life, or rather, lack thereof. The findings reveal alarming flaws that cannot be ignored. Every life lost due to inadequate measures or unnecessary harm inflicted upon innocent marine creatures highlights the urgent need for change. The survival of our oceans depends on the harmony we maintain with its inhabitants. We believe there is a better way forward that upholds the value of marine life while ensuring the safety of beachgoers. 

We want to thank The Hon. Emma Hurst MLC for recently tabling a notice of motion in the NSW Parliament, bringing attention to the findings of our investigation and calling for a ban on shark nets.
