Actualización de la peticiónJustice for victim's killed by dangerous drivers under the influence... Lillie's Law33 Weeks Without You And Your Killer Is Still Free

It has been exactly 33 weeks today since our beautiful Lillie's little heart stopped beating - we are still in disbelief that Lillie has gone; how can that be real? A beautiful, funny, caring, bright, intelligent 22-year-old girl with her entire life ahead of her taken (killed) from her mum, brother and family. We all miss her so very much, and I am not sure if we will ever believe it.

It's been a while since I last posted an update - to be honest, it's because we do not really have one. The driver is yet to be charged (previously I used the word arrested and I have since been advised the difference between arrest and charge - we were blissfully unaware until now...we wish we still were!) and still free to drive... I know I have said this previously; as of now, today, the 16th August 2022, there have been no consequences to anyone other than Lillie of course, her mum Debbie, brother Michael and us, her family.

On a better note, we have made progress in the Houses of Parliament - our MP, Siobhan McDonald (Morden MP) has managed to get our petition listed twice for debate. The second time, the minister agreed to consider the change. This is of course is massive achievement and later this year, the government will be 'calling for evidence' - that's where you will all come in.

Please help us by sending an email/letter to: justice4ourlillie@gmail.com explaining why you believe the law should change. This is your opportunity to be heard and in doing so help us get justice for our Lillie - Lillie's Law.

I will post another update nearer the time, reminding everyone that we need your help. You have all been so amazing so far, and we thank you all for signing our petition... This is the next step, and we need your help again, please.

Your reason may be personal - we have received so many (too many) messages from people who have lost loved ones on our roads because of drunk drivers. The sentencing in some cases is an insult to human life. Of course, we had the great news back in June that anyone charged with Death By Dangerous Driving after the 28th June 2022 will now be looking at a life sentence - that is a step in the right direction...

Thank you all again for your continued support - we do read all your messages and thank each and every one of you xx

P.S. The picture we have used was Lillie's last picture taken at home on Christmas Eve, before she left the house to go to Winter Wonderland in London...❣
