Since this excruciating painful process started… we seem to have had one bombshell after another…. So many ‘ why’s’ so many ‘don’t know’s’ and far too many, ‘No’s’ it honestly has been one thing after the other!
Here we are, just over 6 weeks since Lillie’s little heart stopped beating and finally, we are allowed to lay her to rest. We have been given a date and have started to make plans for our beautiful, precious baby girl. Unfortunately, it will not be for another 4 weeks but at least the authorities have done what they need to and they will leave our poor Lillie alone now!
The past six weeks or more have honestly been torture… especially for my sister Debbie and nephew Michael.
We have heard things we never wanted to know…. Some things a mother should never hear about their baby. In some cases, there has been no sugar coating it, it had to be said. For other matters, the communication and lack of empathy has been appalling.
We understand people that are involved in a process like this (we hate the word process) do it day in and day out, they cannot possibly get emotionally attached however, a little compassion goes a long way!!
Debbie has taken comfort from your message and those she has received via social media… thank you all.
Debbie was told on Wednesday afternoon that there will be the opening of Lillie’s inquest on Thursday at 12 noon. Obviously we wanted to be there!
It took no more that 10 minutes for the Coroner to decide there should be an inquest… it was adjourned and we are told it will be a long way off before we meet again.
We are not familiar with these sorts of procedures, I don’t suppose most people are… what we have been told is, having an inquest is a good thing… the Coroner will review the entire process from beginning to end and who knows, they may decide some policies/procedures need reviewing!
Thank you for signing and sharing… and reading our updates. Please keep bugging your friends and colleagues to sign… it is slowing down a little now, it needs another push.
We have contacted so many people in the public eye and we have heard nothing… I’m sure if Lillie had been a TV celebrity, journalist would be knocking our door down!
We will continue to fight… not that we should,.. the law should already protect Lillie and people like her. Not the people that take their lives!
Please check out Lillie’s new website, it basic at the moment but we will develop over time…
