Eight weeks ago today, our beautiful Lillie was full of excitement… Lillie loved Christmas and was looking forward to the big day. Lillie and her boyfriend Jack were of to Winter Wonderland Christmas Eve, Lillie had been there several times and loved it.
Before they left, my sister, Debbie took a few photos (a lot actually) of Lil looking as beautiful as ever!
Little did we know these would be the last photographs my sister would take of her beautiful baby girl.
Never in a million years did we, as a family ever think we would be in the position. Yes, you worry about your children, that’s part of being a parent but this happens to some other poor family that you hear on the news and think, oh my goodness, how sad… probably just as you have.
We have received so much support, and are blown away that almost 10,000 people have taken the time to sign, share, donate and leave us lovely comments… thank you. We wasn’t aware people were asked to donate… so if you have helped give our petition a boost, thank you again!
Now we have a date so that our precious girl can be laid to rest, we are busy planning and organizing, but to be honest it doesn’t seem real. It hits you all of a sudden that this isn’t a wedding, christening or baby shower and the overwhelming grief is difficult to explain.
Our hearts are broken, never to be mended… losing a child is in the wrong order and unlike losing a parent (we lost our dad two years ago and that was unbearable) time will not be a good healer!
There has been no update on the investigation which is frustrating but, we have decided to focus on Lil for now, nothing else really matters at the moment other than bringing Lillie home to be with her mum, brother and the rest of our family before she is laid to rest.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each and everyone of you that have signed…
Take care and look after one another, life can change in a heartbeat… Lillie’s story is proof of that x
