WE PASSED 600 - AND I’M TAKING YOUR VOICES TO THE COUNTY

I cannot thank you all enough. When I posted my last update just two days ago, we had 324 signatures. Today we have passed 600. ❤️ More than anything, this tells me that what started with my own experiences is resonating with people throughout our communities. Every signature, comment, story and share is helping demonstrate that this deserves to be heard. I have reached out directly to Orange County Supervisors Katrina Foley and Donald Wagner with the petition and my full proposal for a coordinated South Orange County coyote-management and response program. I have not received a response yet, but I am continuing to move this forward. On September 15, I plan to attend the Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting and speak during public comment. I will have three minutes to stand before the Board and explain why I started this petition, what so many of you have shared with me, where I believe our current response system is falling short, and what I am asking our County leaders to do about it. And when I stand there, I won’t just be speaking for myself. I’ll be bringing the voices of more than 600 people who have already said that we can do better - for residents, for our pets, and for the coyotes themselves. My goal remains the same: not to eradicate coyotes, but to create a humane, coordinated system for the situations in which normal coexistence stops working. Between now and September 15, I need your help making our voice even louder. Please continue sharing this petition with your friends, family, neighbors and community groups. Post it on Nextdoor, Facebook, Instagram or anywhere else you think people in Orange County will see it. Our next milestone is 1,000 signatures. Imagine the difference between walking into that meeting saying, “I started a petition,” and walking in saying, “More than 1,000 residents have joined me in asking you to address this.” Thank you for every signature. Thank you for every story you’ve trusted me with. Thank you to everyone who has shared this over and over again.
