324 Signatures in Two Days — And We’re Taking the Next Step

I want to thank every single person who has signed, shared, commented and reached out to me about this petition. In just two days, we have reached 324 signatures, and I am incredibly grateful for how quickly this community has come together. I also want you to know that I am already taking the next steps. I have formally reached out to Orange County Supervisors Katrina Foley and Donald Wagner to share our petition and the detailed proposal I have developed for a coordinated South Orange County coyote management and response program. I have asked for the opportunity to meet and discuss creating a regional solution - one that gives residents a clear place to report serious coyote incidents, tracks patterns across city boundaries, provides an appropriate professional response to sick and suffering coyotes, and establishes clear procedures when coyote behavior becomes increasingly concerning or dangerous. I have not received a response from either office yet, but I will continue following up and will keep everyone here updated as this moves forward. In the meantime, please keep sharing this petition. Send it to your friends, family and neighbors. Post it on Nextdoor, Facebook, Instagram and community groups. Every signature helps demonstrate that this is not one person’s concern or one neighborhood’s problem. The more voices we bring together, the harder this becomes to ignore. What started from my own experiences has quickly become something much bigger. I have heard from so many residents with stories of frightening encounters, pets being attacked or killed, severely sick coyotes suffering in residential areas, and people who have tried repeatedly to find help without knowing which agency will actually respond. I want to be a voice for all of you, and I intend to keep pushing until we get this issue in front of the people who have the ability to create meaningful change.
