Create a Veteran Community Center on the Shore

The Issue

Returning home after military service can be incredibly challenging. In 2003, I left the military filled with hope but faced a harsh reality. With a young family, no job, and an uncertain path, I encountered numerous challenges — job loss, mounting debt, declining health, and overwhelming isolation. Unfortunately, my story is far from unique; countless veterans face similar struggles after service. Determined to make a difference, I founded Veterans OutPost Inc. to advocate for change and create a supportive community for veterans.

Veterans returning to civilian life often find themselves grappling with feelings of isolation and a lack of accessible resources. These issues profoundly affect their mental and physical health. Statistics from the Department of Veterans Affairs indicate that over 40% of veterans report struggling with reintegration challenges. The need for localized support and community is evident and urgent.

Our vision is to establish a Veteran Community Center on the Shore. This center will be a beacon of hope and recovery. It will offer a welcoming environment where veterans and their families can heal, connect, and thrive together. Our proposed center will connect Veterans with essential services through local partnerships, including mental health support, wellness programs, career counseling, and social activities.

Located strategically here on Delmarva, the Shore community is uniquely positioned to help veterans transition successfully back into civilian life. The center will not only serve as a hub for resources but also a place where veterans can forge lifelong friendships and rediscover a sense of belonging.

By supporting this initiative, you are championing the well-being of those who have sacrificed greatly for our nation. We are calling on local authorities, community leaders, and caring citizens to back this crucial project.

Your signature can play a pivotal role in transforming this vision into reality. Stand with veterans, their families, and our entire community to bring the Veteran Community Center to life on the Shore. Please sign this petition today.
