In the age of digital warfare and global media visibility, national security strategies are often compromised by open broadcasting of sensitive information, especially during live or ongoing operations. This issue has surfaced multiple times:

During the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, live TV coverage unknowingly gave away real-time positional information to the terrorists and their handlers.

In the Kargil War, media broadcasts openly discussed troop movements and tactical plans, which were accessible to the enemy as well.

Even today, sensitive operations like counter-terror strikes or border activity are sometimes aired in real-time, exposing military intentions.

While journalism and transparency are vital in a democracy, national defense must never be compromised for public spectacle. Other nations—such as China, Russia, and even parts of Europe—do not allow unrestricted public access to real-time military strategy.

Our Demand:
We propose the creation of a secure, digital news portal accessible only to verified Indian citizens, where high-risk or national defense-related news updates can be shared responsibly without foreign interference or misuse. Verification can be tied to government IDs like Aadhaar, voter ID, or passport, with cross-checking to restrict access to citizens only.

This petition does not seek censorship—rather, it seeks controlled, responsible information sharing for matters critical to national safety.
