The Issue

This is about justice.

If someone is convicted of abusing or neglecting an animal, they should never be allowed to own one again. That’s not extreme—it’s accountability.

Right now, in the United States, there is no consistent, enforceable system that prevents convicted abusers from getting another animal. No public registry. No automatic lifetime ban. Nothing strong enough to stop the cycle.

So what happens?
They hurt an animal… face consequences… and then go out and get another one.

And it happens again.

A public animal abuser registry and a lifetime ownership ban isn’t about being harsh—it’s about being responsible. It gives shelters, veterinarians, breeders, rescues, and even everyday people the ability to protect animals before harm happens.

Because animals cannot speak. They cannot report abuse. They cannot choose who they go home with.

We are the only line of defense they have.

Justice doesn’t stop at punishment—it includes prevention.
And right now, prevention is missing.

This is about protecting innocent lives from proven harm.
This is about breaking a cycle that should never continue.

This is about doing what is right.
