Create a "Mystic" category on Substack
The Issue
As a writer and creator deeply entrenched in the mystic, psychic, and multidimensional space, I find myself consistently grappling with the limitations imposed by existing categories on platforms like Substack. My work, which delves into the realms of spirituality, mysticism, psychic development, and energy work, is often misplaced under broader categories such as "Lifestyle," "Faith & Spirituality," or "Wellness." These categories fail to accurately represent the unique nature and scope of what I do, consequently making it challenging for my audience to discover the content that resonates with their interests.
The lack of a dedicated "Mystic" category on Substack is not an isolated issue. It affects countless writers, healers, teachers, and creators who work within these areas. Despite our coherent and vibrant community, we often find ourselves marginalised or generalised under broader categories that dilute the essence of our work. We deserve a platform that acknowledges our contributions to humanity and allows us to flourish.
Substack has evolved into a vital medium for thought leaders and content creators in various fields, including those at the forefront of spiritual and metaphysical exploration. Providing a dedicated "Mystic" category would not only validate our work but also empower creators like us to connect more effectively with our audience. It would enable readers to discover this specific niche with ease, fostering a space where like-minded individuals can engage and grow.
There is a growing interest in and demand for content that explores the mystic and multidimensional, with countless individuals seeking guidance and knowledge in these areas. According to various research studies, the demand for spiritual, mystical and esoteric content has been rising, with millions engaging with materials related to psychic development and energy healing. By creating a "Mystic" category, Substack can cater to this demand while positioning itself as an inclusive platform that embraces diversity in thought and expression.
We urge Substack to recognise the validity and importance of adding a "Mystic" category, reflecting the diverse range of content that so many of us create. This change would not only benefit creators, but also enrich the platform as a whole by expanding its scope and accessibility.
Sign this petition to support a dedicated home for mystic-themed creators and content on Substack, ensuring that the richness of what we do is recognised, acknowledged, appreciated, and celebrated.
It is down to us to take the action, to make the change we deserve. To shape the space we are already creating.
To make the Mystic community visible.
Closing date for submission to Substack is 31st October 2026.
