Create a Domestic Violence Offender Registry in Kentucky – In Memory of Hayley Davidson

Create a Domestic Violence Offender Registry in Kentucky – In Memory of Hayley Davidson
The Issue
Petition Summary:
We call on the Kentucky State Legislature to pass a law establishing a Domestic Violence Offender Registry — a public, searchable tool that allows citizens to see if someone has been convicted of serious or repeated domestic violence offenses.
Why This Matters:
In June 2025, Hayley Davidson — a Kentucky social worker who dedicated her life to helping others — was murdered by her boyfriend, a sheriff’s deputy, who then took his own life.
Hayley deserved to know the danger she was in. So do countless others.
Just like we track sex offenders, Kentucky should empower survivors, families, and communities with access to information that could save lives. This registry would not only honor Hayley’s memory, but also help prevent future tragedies.
We urge Kentucky legislators to take immediate action. Survivors deserve this chance. Hayley deserved this chance.
This is for Hayley. This is for all of us.
