The Issue
Manchester still has no dedicated central memorial to the people killed by Covid-19.
Thousands of people died across Greater Manchester and the North West. Nearly six years on, bereaved families are still waiting for somewhere public, permanent and dignified where they can remember the people they lost.
London has the National Covid Memorial Wall. Manchester has no equivalent memorial in the heart of the city. For families here, that absence matters.
Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice is calling on Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Mayor of Greater Manchester to deliver a dedicated Covid memorial in a suitable central and accessible Manchester location.
