Crayola, Make Your Mark! Set up a marker recycling program
Call to action from the Kids Who Care

https://www.flickr.com/photos/129981381@N02/16699617606/ Recently, we posted a note from some of our Green Team kids thanking you for signing their petition to Crayola back in 2012/2013. The petition asked Crayola to set-up a take-back program so that kids could help keep plastic markers from becoming waste and pollution in our landfills, incinerators, and oceans. As many of you know, Crayola stepped up and said yes and so did another marker manufacturer, Dixon Ticonderoga. Our recent note went on to ask, “Now, all we need to do is to work together to make these programs a big success! Will you please ask the schools in your town to participate? These are great projects for a school green team or student council. Thank you!” After our recent post, there were some requests for the direct links to the Crayola and Dixon Ticonderoga take-back programs. If you're interested in starting a take-back program at your school, you can learn more here: http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle.aspx http://www.dixonrecycle.com/home/ You can also start a petition urging your school or school district to participate in these take-back programs by going here: https://www.change.org/start-a-petition. Lastly, for those of you who never saw Dixon’s launch video, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXAnx7a2BvY
